Colaiste Cois Siuire provides for the education of children with special education needs through a number of support mechanisms depending on each individual’s needs.

We have a strong Special Needs Education Team, led by the school’s Special Needs Co-ordinator, Mr Ken Grant. The emphasis is placed on inclusivity of all students from the time they arrive in Colaiste Cois Siuire. Testing on the day of the Entrance Assessment allows our SEN team to highlight those who may have needs and to highlight areas of strength for our students. All students benefit from our Continuum of Support approach throughout all years groups in the school.

Testing of students continues in later years to assist students with their subject choices. We offer a variety of methods to assist students with additional needs through team-teaching, paired reading groups and small group resource classes to name a few. We are proud of our SEN, Learning Resource department, and we continue to work hard to assist the students in our care with additional educational needs.
