Dear Parents,
My name is Brenda Curran and I am the Home School Community Liaison (HSCL)
Coordinator in Coláiste Cois Siúire.

My role is to help you, the parents and guardians, together with teachers and the wider
community to enhance your son/daughters education and wellbeing through promoting
attendance and participation in the school community.

As part of this role, I do home visits to work with you and assist you in whatever way I can
with any issues that might be affecting your child’s attendance and participation at school.
No issue is too big or too small and I am a firm believer in the old adage “a problem shared
is a problem halved”.

I also organise workshops and activities for parents to help you develop your own interests
and skills. I will regularly update on our on-going activities and would love to see you all get
involved. We would also love to hear if you have any ideas for workshops or if you too
would like to give a class and teach other parents a new skill.

Listening to the parent voice is an essential part of developing a well-rounded and respectful
school community and I would encourage you to take part in our Parents Association which
meets to discuss the needs of the school.
